Char vs. Louis Mixed Arm Wrestling Match at Roper’s Saloon in West Plains

Spread the love

Char vs Louis - Mixed Arm WrestlingOn October 4, 2014 we were in the middle of a vacation exploring the Arkansas and Missouri Ozarks.  That night, we found ourselves in West Plains, Missouri and stopped inside Roper’s Saloon on the downtown square for a drink, a bite to eat, and some live music and entertainment.  Local band Stone Wall Station was performing and once they found out who we were, we ended up sitting in with them for a few songs during their set.  We had a blast with them and enjoyed the food, drinks, and atmosphere of Roper’s Saloon.

The most interesting part of our night came moments after performing with Stone Wall Station when Char challenged me to an arm wrestling match at the saloon.  Footage of this event was captured by a couple patrons and we’ve put the footage together in this video.

We are including this footage in our upcoming documentary, You Got Beat By A Girl, but here is a preview you can watch now…

Awesome video and Louis didn’t stand a chance! I love the confidence you showed going into the match Char! What were the people’s reactions like after the match? I’d love to have seen them interviewed about it!

I bet every guy in the bar was trying to get a chance to arm wrestle you after seeing you take Louis down like that! Did you smack anyone else down after Louis? Can you imagine some macho type hanging out in the bar trying to impress a girl and challenging you after you beat Louis just to show off that you weren’t all that, only to get taken down by you himself! That would be the best!

This was hot, Char! Louis…………….. you got beat by a girl! 😉

What I like about you two is that you guys are real with your competitions. I’ve seen men and women arm wrestling when it was clearly faked and the guys were just pretending to lose. With you, you get the real thing! You can tell when people are acting and you guys are real!

I’ve watched this video five times now. INCREDIBLE! Louis of course you knew she was going to own you because you’ve faced her so many times and lost every match. But the people at the bar might have expected you to win if you showed more confidence. Then it would have been so cool to see them shocked at Char and her Girl Power after your defeat. Char sits down totally confident and aggressive and you look like a beat man even before the match begins.

Amazing video, though. Wish I could have a match with you, Char!

I’m several years older than ya’ll but in 1988 right after I graduated from college I used to go to a bar in Florida and they had a bartender that was just out of the marines. He used to tell guys they could have a free drink if they could beat him at arm wrestling. But if they couldn’t they had to throw money in the tip jar. Some really big guys would come in and beat him once in a while but he beat most everyone easily. I’ll never forget one night when a very attractive woman came in and challenged him. You could tell she worked out but she was not really that big. She was very tall though and that probably gave her extra leverage. They went at it for about 20 seconds and she took him down! Everyone at the bar went wild. The bartender NEVER arm wrestled anyone there again after that. He was so upset about it and got mad whenever people joked about it. Big sore loser! LOL
