All That Glitters Is Cold
Last month, Char and I visited a beautiful Bed and Breakfast while filming for our upcoming A Day in the Life TV show episode to be called “A Day in the Life of Hot Springs Bed and Breakfasts.” The bed and breakfast was Mountain Thyme Inn located in Jessieville, Arkansas – just outside of Hot Springs near Lake Ouachita.
While filming the TV show during the daytime, we had brought our band with us and were performing concerts at night in Hot Springs. If you’ve seen our band, Vintage, in concert then you might notice that Char almost always takes to the stage wearing glitter on her face and body. And if you’ve been following this website for any length of time, you probably are aware that Char and I are madly in love with each other and it’s pretty typical to find us embraced in a kiss. All this to say… I have grown used to the fact that as Char’s husband, I will have glitter all over my face and hands since much of it rubs off on me.
Back to Mountain Thyme and Jessieville, Arkansas. While speaking with Mike and Rhonda, the wonderful innkeepers there, I noticed that Rhonda kept getting up from her seat then would return to our interview. I also noticed that I was getting increasingly cold as our conversation progressed. That’s when Rhonda leaned forward to look at me more closely.
“Why are you wearing glitter,” she asked me.
“Huh?” I questioned. “OH, glittter! That’s Char’s. She wears it at gigs. It gets all over me when we kiss.”
She burst into laughter. “Well here I was thinking you were sitting there sweating all morning. I kept getting up and turning the air conditioner higher thinking you were burning up.”
We laughed, shared a wonderful breakfast, and made new friends. Look for our review of Mountain Thyme Inn very soon on this website and be sure to catch the complete experience as they will be showcased on our upcoming TV Show episode, “A Day in the Life of Hot Springs Bed and Breakfasts” coming soon from The Traveling Twosome.
