A Day in the Life of a Prison Guard

Char Spends a Day in the Life as a Prison Guard

It’s called by many names:  The Penn, The Slammer, The Big House, The Pokey.  But whatever you choose to call it, everyone agrees that jail is not a place where you’d want to spend your time.

Behind the coiled, razor-wire fences and stone guard towers, prisoners spend day and night doing hard labor… and waiting…  Some wait for a release that seems an eternity away.  Others await a fate of a different kind.

Prison guards are charged with the task of overseeing these hardened criminals.  It’s a dangerous job and requires going toe to toe with some of the most diabolical men and women on earth.

In some prisons, guards also are burdened with the somber responsibility of “pulling the switch.”  Such is the case in the prison we visited… where we spent a sobering Day in the Life of a Prison Guard.

Enjoy the show!

You had me totally wanting to see this show! I can’t believe it was a gag! You really need to do this episode for real. I’d love to see Char kick some prisoner butt! Char, forgive me but you holding the handcuffs makes me a little weak in my knees! WOW!

    Beth,

I would indeed love filming that however the prison system is so strict with their policies (for many obvious and not-so-obvious reasons) that I’m afraid it could never truly happen.

    Bryson,

So … after seeing you and Louis at the market this morning and becoming unavoidably preoccupied with the visual of you outfitted in Prison Matron green whipping up on some tough dudes while your perfectly coifed pigtails flailed wildly (I was hoping for slo-mo on that part), I dropped my sack of field greens right in front of a bird house vendor and scampered home to my computer without delay.

The antcipation was great; I tensed during the “sobering edition” intro. And while I wasn’t necessarily looking forward to the obligatory switch-flipping scene, I do feel the viewing audience was cheated overall by not actually getting to witness you in perhaps your most aptitude-appropriate “Day in the Life” setting to date. Just saying …

After-all, didn’t we state I am a *bully* not that long ago? LOL Maybe someday this could actually become a real TV show episode! Imagine? That would be pretty intense! I better start lifting the weights again, eh? Must all get together soon!

Whatever happened with the blindfold competition? Are you still doing that?

If I can come up with other fun competitions, I’ll send them to you. I just watched most of your Traveling Twosome Olympics competitions and those were pretty good. I can’t believe Louis won at tug of war. You should make him pay for that.

Eric…. we have been jammin’ with work (another TV show is near completion) and band gigs and just haven’t had the opportunity to enjoy the blindfold competitions quite yet. But don’t fret, dear friend! We will indeed be filming them in the very near future! *smile* Continue to send us your ideas!

As far as Louis winning tug of war….. well, if it was on solid ground he would have never stood a chance! *grin* He WILL indeed pay for that one! LOL
