I know…. I know….. y’all are thinking, There she goes. She’s at it again! It’s true. I am. And I can honestly say I will never be sorry for it. You see, I LOVE my husband. I love him with every bit of my being. I know I am a very blessed woman to have him as my groom and as my best friend.
To me, spoiling him with great pleasures such as a gourmet meal is an honor. Yes, it will take many hours of shopping, prepping and cooking but think of the outcome! A well fed husband who feels very satisfied. A husband who is at peace. A husband who looks forward to coming home never truly knowing what excitement and surprises await him. A husband who is happy. And a happy husband makes for a happy home!
A little “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” to make the world a better place. Imagine if everyone took time and energy to pray for their spouse and literally do something to make them feel loved, help them feel much more special than anyone else in your life. Imagine if everyone did this… the world would be so much better in every way! So why not make the commitment to start now? Why wait until your loved one is sick. Why wait until you have more money? Why wait until the kids are all grown? WHY? You don’t have to!
This week I am planning two very special evenings for my groom. Tomorrow night will be a delicious light dinner followed by an evening of game playing together. Simple things make this marriage go ’round. A paper football challenge will entertain us both for hours and give us many memories for our future years of reminiscing. A piece of paper, folks. That’s it! Fold it up, tuck it in and it’s GAME TIME. See how simple it can be?
Our second special evening is much more romantic. I am taking my man to Ethiopia. No, I didn’t win the lottery. Ha! I’d have to play before I would even stand a chance at that. And to me, that money is better spent on creating another side dish for a romantic dinner at home with my love. Since I can’t travel around the world with my sweetheart, the world is going to travel around to us! Ethiopia is coming to our home. How convenient! *smile*
I am on the prowl for some wonderful music of that region. I have made a list of foods I will cook from scratch. The smells and tastes are enough to make this grown girl cry out in thanksgiving! Seriously. Have you ever gone to a spice shop and smelled the lovely flavors of beautifulness? I have done my shopping and I am prepared. I am ready!
Wait…not quite ready yet. The music and food is ready but what about my attire? I have a few things to do yet. And I will. Because I can. And it’s fun! Also, I need to prep some large dishes to hold the yummilicious foods I am about to prepare with deep love. Since I do not own special equipment I have to be creative. What better to use than a few lazy Susan’s? Wrapping them with aluminum foil or saran wrap…then layering some injera bread on top. Topping the injera bread with 8 varieties of prepared foods. Then having another lazy Susan holding fresh warm injera bread so that we may grab pieces with our fingers and scoop up the delicious creations.
But wait…..to truly get the experience one must make sure we have the special handwashing. I shall pour warm water over my mans hands…as he leans over another bowl and then hand him a towel to dry them off with. I am a wife who truly desires to serve with the greatest of admiration and thankfulness towards my groom.
And I may even try to create a roasted coffee just like they do in Ethiopia to be served with some fresh pineapple and coconut. Ethiopian dinners usually end with fresh fruit and thick dark freshly roasted coffee. That stuff can grow hair on your chest. That will be interesting. On second thought, maybe I ought not go there. I mean, I don’t know about you but hair on a man’s chest is nice but on a woman’s? Ummmmm, yeah, not so much. Maybe I’ll stick with water. *grin*
Stay tuned for a new video on how to create a romantic evening for your man/woman.
If you try this please let me know. I love to hear about other people’s romantic success stories. Who am I kidding, I love to hear all about the flops too! Yes, it’s true. I have had a flop or two. Ok, enough thinking about that. Stop. No seriously! Let’s get back to the fun stuff! *wink* I don’t want to ruin my image. LOL
