Sharing a kiss atop the Hot Springs Mountain Tower.

I know…. I know….. y’all are thinking, There she goes. She’s at it again! It’s true. I am. And I can honestly say I will never be sorry for it. You see, I LOVE my husband. I love him with every bit of my being. I know I am a very blessed woman to have him as my groom and as my best friend.

To me, spoiling him with great pleasures such as a gourmet meal is an honor. Yes, it will take many hours of shopping, prepping and cooking but think of the outcome! A well fed husband who feels very satisfied. A husband who is at peace. A husband who looks forward to coming home never truly knowing what excitement and surprises await him. A husband who is happy. And a happy husband makes for a happy home!

A little “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” to make the world a better place. Imagine if everyone took time and energy to pray for their spouse and literally do something to make them feel loved, help them feel much more special than anyone else in your life. Imagine if everyone did this…   the world would be so much better in every way! So why not make the commitment to start now? Why wait until your loved one is sick. Why wait until you have more money? Why wait until the kids are all grown? WHY? You don’t have to!

There's nothing quite like playing games with your spouse. As any fan of this website knows, we play and compete all the time! Here, we are preparing for a paper football match. Just a simple piece of paper but it brings us together in play.

This week I am planning two very special evenings for my groom. Tomorrow night will be a delicious light dinner followed by an evening of game playing together. Simple things make this marriage go ’round. A paper football challenge will entertain us both for hours and give us many memories for our future years of reminiscing. A piece of paper, folks. That’s it! Fold it up, tuck it in and it’s GAME TIME. See how simple it can be?

Our second special evening is much more romantic. I am taking my man to Ethiopia. No, I didn’t win the lottery. Ha!  I’d have to play before I would even stand a chance at that.  And to me, that money is better spent on creating another side dish for a romantic dinner at home with my love. Since I can’t travel around the world with my sweetheart, the world is going to travel around to us! Ethiopia is coming to our home.  How convenient!  *smile*

Some of our most memorable date nights are spent at home with a romantic meal.

I am on the prowl for some wonderful music of that region. I have made a list of foods I will cook from scratch. The smells and tastes are enough to make this grown girl cry out in thanksgiving! Seriously. Have you ever gone to a spice shop and smelled the lovely flavors of beautifulness?  I have done my shopping and I am prepared. I am ready!

Wait…not quite ready yet. The music and food is ready but what about my attire? I have a few things to do yet. And I will. Because I can.  And it’s fun!  Also, I need to prep some large dishes to hold the yummilicious foods I am about to prepare with deep love.  Since I do not own special equipment I have to be creative. What better to use than a few lazy Susan’s?   Wrapping them with aluminum foil or saran wrap…then layering some injera bread on top. Topping the injera bread with 8 varieties of prepared foods.  Then having another lazy Susan holding fresh warm injera bread so that we may grab pieces with our fingers and scoop up the delicious creations.

But wait…..to truly get the experience one must make sure we have the special handwashing. I shall pour warm water over my mans hands…as he leans over another bowl and then hand him a towel to dry them off with. I am a wife who truly desires to serve with the greatest of admiration and thankfulness towards my groom.

Ahhhh - the feeling of being in love!

And I may even try to create a roasted coffee just like they do in Ethiopia to be served with some fresh pineapple and coconut. Ethiopian dinners usually end with fresh fruit and thick dark freshly roasted coffee. That stuff can grow hair on your chest. That will be interesting. On second thought, maybe I ought not go there. I mean, I don’t know about you but hair on a man’s chest is nice but on a woman’s? Ummmmm, yeah, not so much. Maybe I’ll stick with water.  *grin*

Stay tuned for a new video on how to create a romantic evening for your man/woman.

If you try this please let me know.  I love to hear about other people’s romantic success stories.  Who am I kidding, I love to hear all about the flops too! Yes, it’s true. I have had a flop or two. Ok, enough thinking about that.  Stop. No seriously!  Let’s get back to the fun stuff! *wink*  I don’t want to ruin my image.  LOL

First of all, I want to say that you have the greatest last name I’ve ever heard. How do some people get so lucky with a name like Magnifico while others are stuck with Oliver???? Oh well.

Char, thank you for writing this piece. Husbands and wives alike should read this very carefully. In fact, they would do well to follow your site regularly. You and Louis have achieved what few couples do in your relationship and it shows in all of your videos and articles on your website. Louis is a very fortunate man to have you as his wife.

Something as simple as creating a romantic dinner at home can make such a difference in marriages. You’ve got to eat, why not make it special? Simple things like creating a romantic mood and dressing hot for your husband go a long way with us! We don’t want our wives leftovers, we want their best! You also don’t neglect having fun with each other. It’s well known how much men enjoy games and competing. It makes our adrenaline flow and gets us going even when we’re exhausted. Most women are bored with this part of our nature. It’s something that they complain about. But we can’t help it! We love a challenge. You understand this about guys and you play with your husband and find that when you do, you both have a great time together! It’s obvious that you both enjoy sporting with one another. If only more women would take the time to play with their husbands like you do! Your competitions and your quest for victory in each contest keep you going back to each other for your entertainment and companionship.

Kudos to you on publishing this. May it not fall on deaf ears!

  3. David, your comment was music to our ears. Since starting this website, we’ve had several people approach us personally as well as online and tell us that our website, radio show, and TV show have made them want a better marriage for themselves. The key to having it is not just wishing for it but doing something about it. And it takes both husband and wife making that commitment together. I’m sure Char wants to comment back personally so I’ll leave it at this. But you hit on several great points in your comment and we agree wholeheartedly! Thanks for your encouragement!

  5. Thank you for your encouraging words, Laurie. I pray many would desire to have a more amazing marriage and that they too would take the time, energy and effort to help their spouses feel loved, appreciated and desired everyday. I teach our children that God deserves our ultimate best and our spouses deserve our best! I am a woman who is completely in love with her husband. I am so happy to hear that it is evident in our posts! May God richly bless you!!

  7. Dear David,

I must say your comment made my week. It truly is the most amazing comment thus far we have received. Thank you so very much from the depth of my being for your encouragement and support.

As far as our last name….. I know, right? CHAR MAGNIFICO…. what a perfect name for me!! It fits quite well! Everyone always asks if it’s my “stage name”. It’s the REAL DEAL and I love it! BTW, Oliver is a pretty cool name too! Be proud! =)

My relationship with my husband is so very important to me. I waited so very long to have this kind of love and acceptance. I am by no means perfect but Louis loves me none-the-less. In fact, he finds my quirky ways attractive and/or funny! How cool is that?? Oh, If only I could have known him so many years ago……. Though we can’t change the past we can enjoy the present and future and make our time together most memorable, fun, romantic, silly and LOVING.

I can’t ever imagine being bored with my husbands playful nature! I think it’s sexy and FUN! Seriously!! When I see his beautiful handsome face light up with a huge smile and laughter it makes my heart pitter-patter like nobody’s business!! When he is happy I am ECSTATIC! Nothing makes me happier than seeing the ones I love happy!! I desire to give Louis my best! He desires to give me his! Playing with him makes my world go ’round! I pray others will see how important it is romance their spouse….no matter what! It makes for such an amazing marriage. Make your spouse your best friend and you will always be JOYful!!

Again, I thank you for your kind words! Off to write more about our evening exploring the tastes and adventures of Ethiopia!! May your life be richly blessed!
