Anniversary Pool Challenge
You've got to love where the 8 ball is waiting...

It had been weeks since Char and I had last battled it out on the billiards table so when the challenge came from Char to play a few rounds after a night out celebrating our wedding anniversary, I was ready for some fun competition once again! Char had been gloating ever since her last victory so this would be payback time. We got home, headed for the game room, and began a Best of 7 series.
*snicker snicker snicker* I already knew the outcome even before we began, my darling!
The first match was mine all the way to the end… and at the end, another one of those terrible, stupid catastrophes occurred. I scratched shooting my last ball in, basically handing her the victory. Why does this always seem to happen to me!!!!
*giggle* Let’s see……. a game won is a game won and it always happens to you THIS way? Ummmm, honey, seriously now. Admit defeat! Just DO IT, as the Nike commercial expresses. It’s OK, sweetheart, it won’t hurt…….. that much.
Game two started off as badly as game one ended but things quickly changed and I wound up sinking the 8 ball to even the score at a game a piece. It looked like the tables were turning and momentum was shifting my way…
Why am I hearing the song “DREAM” once again in my head? I let you win one game and suddenly you are going to claim VICTORY? HA!!! Try again darling…… Oh, wait, you did try again. Read on folks and continue seeing how this chick whooped his catookas fair and square once again in yet another challenge and when you are done reading do the “Char jiggy dance” right where you are in my honor. It’s ok, really, it is. Nobody’s watching. So go ahead, do a little dance. You know I did!
Could Char possibly have it any easier?
The third match of the night would prove to be very similar to the first. There was one unique thing that must be mentioned about this game before we go on, however. Char stood in the most awkward position I’ve ever seen and shot what appeared to be a ridiculous shot. She sank her ball after banking off of two walls…. just as she intended. I have to say, it was quite impressive to see, even if it was awkward. And once again I am amazingly stunning with the win! I know how to win…. especially your heart! Anyway, as I was saying, the third match was very similar to the first.
I was clearing the table on the way to an easy victory when I… yep, you guessed it… scratched on the 8 ball. Three games down, the score stood at 2-1. The night was still too close to call at this point as game four loomed on the horizon.
WHOOOOP WHOOOOOP *insert Char jiggy dance here* Anyone care to join me in a Victory dance? I WON!!! I WON!!!! I WON!!!! I ALWAYS WIN!!!!!!
Game four would prove to be the most intense match of the night. After a close game throughout, I had an unfortunate shot and scratched leaving one of Char’s balls and the 8 ball on the table. It appeared that I had just handed the game to Char (once again). But Char had an even more unfortunate shot after sinking her final ball and missed what should have been an easy 8 ball in the corner pocket! The game appeared to be mine and I even started to do a little victory dance as I watched the 8 ball sink in its intended hole. My dance stopped as I watched my cue ball slide over to the corner pocket and scratch. Alas, once again, I lose after scratching on the 8 ball. The score, as unfair as it felt, stood at 3-1. *giggle* What can I say???? The chick has beat you yet again!!!
Char wins the competition 4-2.
I sank the 8 ball (amazingly, without scratching) during our fifth match to bring the score to 3-2. I felt things looking up for me once again and had high hopes as we began round six. But round six turned out to be Char’s best game of the night and she sank the 8 ball, claiming the victory 4-2.
Ok, ok, ok – so Char wins again. But even Char must admit that almost all of her victories seem to be predominately because of my 8 ball scratches… And of course, because of this fact, I feel another rematch is due soon…
And I smell another VICTORY in my future!! So darling, Friday night, you have plans! Romantic dinner at home by candlelight and then….. BAM! I’m gonna whoop whoop WHOOP your catookas!! Get your game on, baby!!! You are gonna get muddified!

Where is the post for the Friday match?
Char chickened out and we wound up not having our pool rematch last Friday after all. I’m not surprised. LOL
WHATEVER!!! See people, he’s trying to snow you all! Instead of telling you that 2 FANTABULOUS friends of ours invited us over for dinner Friday night, he chose to try and snow y’all so you would vote for him! HA!!!! BUSTED. My honey is BUSTED once again!!! As if I wouldn’t catch him. We have postponed our rematch (which you ALL know I will win AS ALWAYS) until this coming Friday evening. I will be making a delicious romantic by candle light dinner and then it’s GAME TIME! I am most certain I will be doing the VICTORY dance once again! Cuz I’m just “good like that”! *wink* Stay tuned!!! I guarantee we will not only amuse ourselves (cheap entertainment at best) but we will indeed amuse you once again too! Oh, btw sweetheart, I love you more today than yesterday!! To the moon and back!! Forever and always…… and I think our fish is pregnant! *smile*
Hmmmmm – that gives me an idea. We can do a Traveling Twosome post when our fish has fish babies.
OK – back the the pool match. Yeah, yeah – I hear you… so we’re on for this Friday, then, eh? Well I suppose I can wait a few more days before I get to take you down 4 games to none and write all about it… LOL Oh, yes, I love you too!
I think he’s letting you win. No one could always lose by scratching every time. I’ll check the site after Friday to see the results. Fun site to read!

Ok Louis…I think you need to change your tactics

You’re falling for the oldest female trick in the book! DISTRACTION!!! LOL Make her wear a turtle neck next time! LOL I can testify though…it’s VERY effective…if not slightly sneaky 
Either that or equally distract…but then I have a feeling your TT updates will lose their Family rating.
Laura – We’ll opt for keeping the family rating.
I wish I could blame it on distraction; and LivingIt, I wish I could say I was just letting her win… but I’ve actually just had the misfortune of scratching like that each time!
BUT her luck can’t go on forever like that! This Friday night, I’m taking the championship back!
My money is on Char! I’ll visit your site after Friday to see. I think I might buy a table for our home my husband and I love to play each other at games.
If you guys like playing and competing then the table is WELL worth the investment! We got ours at a great price off of Craig’s List.
Oh, and sorry but I’m afraid that if your money is on Char, then you’ll be broke after Friday – I am guaranteeing my victory this time!
And – where’s the update? Who won?
Believe it or not, we didn’t get around to playing Friday – if Char doesn’t chicken out, however, we will plan on holding the event Tuesday night… So Char can hold on to the title of pool champ for another 3 days… then it’s all mine!
My girlfriend will get lucky then refuse a rematch. Don’t be surprised if yours doesn’t do the same thing. You’ll probably never get a chance to get the championship back!
Not going to be a problem with us. We’re married and the pool table is in our home. Either Monday or Tuesday night, we’re on… RIGHT, CHAR?????
Ummmm, Mon and Tues …. not possible but perhaps Wed or Thurs!! Boy, you sooooooooo better prepare yourself to lose again!!!

Nope! We still haven’t done it – we started to last night but didn’t finish playing so we will reschedule…. Believe me, when we do play our next tournament, we’ll be posting about it! Maybe this Friday….
OK – hey – this sounds good – I just checked the weather. It’s going down to 29 degrees Friday night… why don’t we do the pool on Friday early evening followed by one of those Fondue dinners by the fireplace again. We can Traveling Twosome that as well for a “While At Home” post on Fondue! Then, since we’ve already DVR’d some old classic movies – we can watch them by the fire after dinner. What say you? Date night in?
Oh – and by the way – I saw that last comment you made… me? lose again? I THINK NOT! No way, no how, no this time!
ROFLOL I’ll take you up on that date night!! Sounds divine!! But do I have to clean up or is the cleaning fairy hired for the evening? I’m much prefer to use my energy for whoopin’ your catookas again!!! Then gloating all night long…rubbing it in how you always get beat by your wife!!! *grin* I mean, after all, I am Wonder Woman!! The evening ending in such a fashion sounds romanticly perfect and amazing!

Um, Laura, funny you mention a cape. I really do want a cape. For several reasons… some of which just might make it to The Traveling Twosome one day…. you’ll have to keep reading… (that is, if I ever get a cape)…
Alright yall…I admit it…I was bought. I didn’t want to…but I had no choice…I was desparte!! I couldn’t get on Walmart.com three weeks before Christmas…what was I to do?? I went to Louis for help…which he freely gave…ah, but was it really free?? How can I now laugh at his losses after he rescued me??
I would say that due to this I have switched sides…but I can’t do that either. There is such a thing as Loyalty and I’m full of it! So I will silently cheer Char on while refraining from commenting on Louis’ pool playing skills…or lack there of.
